Nik Dier, LMSW

Coordinator of EAP Services/Therapist

Nik is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) in New York, having received a BSW degree from Keuka College and an MSW degree from Edinboro University. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic, drawing on creativity and narrative work. She understands that every individual and relationship is distinct, and as such, her approach is tailored to suit the specific needs of her clients. Nik specializes in working with clients aged 14 and above, with a particular focus on couples and families. Her empathetic and client-centered approach allows her to create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their feelings and develop effective strategies for enhancing their relationships. Nik's passion for improving conflict and communication is evident in her work, as she strives to help individuals and families build healthier connections and resolve issues that may have otherwise gone unaddressed. 


As the Coordinator of EAP Services, Nik plays a pivotal role in helping individuals and organizations navigate the challenges of workplace well-being. Her dedication to fostering healthy communication and resolving conflicts within organizations is a reflection of her unwavering commitment to promoting positive change in the workplace and making a profound impact on the lives she touches. 


Kerry Gush, LMSW

Psychotherapist

Kerry graduated from SUNY at Buffalo with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Social Work in 2005. She is licensed in New York state to practice school social work and psychotherapy.


Kerry joins us as a part time therapist in 2023. She is currently employed as a full time School Social Worker working with adolescents and their families. She has worked with children and families throughout most of her career for over 25 years. In addition, she has worked with adults in various social work positions. She has worked at Family Services in Chemung and Steuben counties. She has worked at Elmira Psychiatric Center, and also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Elmira College.


Kerry has dedicated her career to motivate and support others to meet their full potential. She has worked to support individuals with mental health challenges in many different roles. She has therapeutic experience in treating individuals with Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, ASD, Trauma and Grief. Treatment approaches focus on Strengths Based and Systems therapies including but not limited to CBT, SFT, DBT and Play Therapy. Kerry strives to create a treatment plan with her clients that is individualized addressing their specific concerns to identify ways to manage symptoms by implementing coping strategies to enhance quality of life focusing on positive growth. 

Kristie Haberstroh, LCSW-R

Therapist

Kristie has been practicing clinical social work for 25 years in educational and private setting. She is a graduate of Marywood University MSW program and completed her undergraduate work at Elmira College with a Bachelor of Science emphasis in psychology. As a clinical social worker her experience ranges from young children to adults specializing in addressing anxiety, ADHD, family, and couple relationship issues. She utilizes evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Family Systems Therapy to help manage symptoms, develop coping strategies, and foster resilience. She personalizes treatment plans that consider each individual’s unique needs and goals which combine therapy, psychoeducation, and support.

Theresa Houck, LCSW

Psychotherapist

Theresa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is licensed to practice psychotherapy and school social work in the State of New York. She graduated from Mansfield University with a Bachelor’s in Social Work in 2001, and the University at Buffalo with a Master’s in Social Work in 2008. In her twenty years of social work experience, Theresa has supported children and families as they have faced life’s challenges. During her career, she has gained experience while serving individuals and families at Comprehensive interdisciplinary Developmental Services (C.I.D.S.), Tompkins Community Action, Planned Parenthood, Chemung County Children and Family Services, the Chemung County Child Advocacy Center, Children’s Integrated Services and BOCES. Theresa joined our private practice as a part-time psychotherapist in 2021. Theresa is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This type of therapy is specifically designed to help children, ages 3-18, deal with the symptoms related to difficult/upsetting/traumatic experiences such as domestic violence, physical abuse, sexual abuse, accidents and disasters. Additionally, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, play therapy, Motivational Interviewing and mindfulness based practices in her approach to guiding people toward positive growth.

Monica Jerzak, LMSW

Psychotherapist

Monica is a LMSW, licensed to practice psychotherapy in the State of New York. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University and completed her undergraduate education, concentrated primarily in Social Work and Psychology, at Corning Community College and Mansfield University. Monica works primarily with adults experiencing difficulty managing various stressors including symptomology indicative of anxiety, depressive and mood disorders. Monica also currently dedicates clinical time to the Pathways, Inc. OLP program, where she works with children typically afflicted by attention deficits, trauma and/or disruptive behaviors. Monica takes pride in utilizing a bio-psycho-social approach to treatment, grounded in systems theory, to consider the plethora of factors contributing to one’s thoughts, feelings and behaviors. She is trained in CBT, DBT and client centered therapy.

Amy Jones, LCSW

Therapist

Amy graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development and from Marywood University with a Master’s in Social Work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and has worked in residential facilities for people with severe mental illnesses, case management, inpatient behavioral health services and an Assertive Community Treatment team (ACT), as well as community mental health. Amy also was the Director of the Chemung County Crisis program, and most recently worked at Southport Correctional Facility, providing mental health treatment for incarcerated individuals. Amy has been a part of both Tompkins and Chemung County Mental Health Sub-Committees and collaborated with the Tompkins County Mental Health Association. Amy has experience dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, trauma, relationship concerns and loss. Amy is trained in CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Skills, Trauma Informed Care and a wide range of other modalities. Her treatment style is eclectic and utilizes a broad spectrum of various styles and skills. Amy enjoys working with clients ages 13 and up. When not at work, Amy enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her children and dog, Cassidy. 

Candace Kieffer, LMHC

Clinical and OLP Therapist

Candace is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has Master’s Degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Certified Rehabilitation Counseling through Thomas University. Candace has provided counseling services through mental health clinics, with the Veteran’s Administration and as an Assistant Crisis Coordinator through Chemung County Crisis. She has also worked with the adult and adolescent forensic population. Candace is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is treatment used to assist children, adolescents and families in overcoming any negative effects of a traumatic life event. She has clinical experience working with individuals whom have anxiety, depression, eating disorders, non-suicidal self-injury, substance use, PTSD, ADHD, ASD, and ODD. Candace also has experience providing individual and family counseling with the LGBTQIA+ population. She utilizes a strength’s based approach and is trained in DBT, CBT, CBT-E, IFS, CPT and more.

Daniel Kress, LMSW

Therapist

Dan graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor’s of Science and Bachelors of Social Work. He attended Syracuse University and obtained a Master’s in Social Work with an emphasis on Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). He is a Licensed Master Social Worker. Dan has worked for private and public Employee Assistance Programs, inpatient behavioral health units, outpatient mental health clinics, substance abuse programs, occupational health, hospitals, schools, correctional facilities and works part time as an Oncology Social Worker. His area of interest include anxiety, depression, ODD, relationships challenges, sexual abuse, trauma, and end of life. Dan is trained in CBT, critical incident stress debriefing (CISD), relaxation and numerous other mindfulness coping skills and solution focused therapy. He enjoys working with clients ages 10 and up.

Leslie McKenzie Moriarty,  LCSW

Therapist

Leslie competed her BA from St. Bonaventure University in 2002 and went on to get her MSW directly after from Buffalo State University College part-time and working full-time starting her career working with children. Leslie takes a non-judgmental approach working with all individuals to learn how to deal with life stressors. She specializes in how to work with family dynamics and the impact of how society can impact families. Specializes in Reactive Attachment Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, ADHD, anxiety and personality disorders. Leslie has worked over the course of her social work career working in a lot of settings from foster care worker, hospice care, corrections, and private practice working with individuals and families. We got this!
